We all know the physical benefits of exercise. It can be easy to forget the psychological benefits of exercise. But its true – working up a sweat can improve your mood and your ability to deal with stress. At CrossFit CDR, we believe that your workouts should be fun, safe, and constantly varied. Your time at CDR is an opportunity to let go of the junk that accumulates during the day. We believe that workouts should be something you look forward to, not another obligation at the end of your busy day. Or maybe you know that getting in an early workout will start your day off right – after all, the rest of the day can only get easier, right?!? At CDR, everyone knows your name. We take results seriously, but we never take ourselves too seriously. Lifting heavy things (and then dropping them) feels really good. Don’t underestimate the ability of a WOD to make your brain happy!
The following are common psychological benefits gained through exercise.
- Improved mood
- Reduced stress as well as an improved ability to cope with stress
- Improved self-esteem
