Change How You Count

We’ve got more advice from Mentality WOD:

“Next time you are dragging through a WOD or a movement, try changing the way you count.

  • Instead of counting up, count down your reps – This may help you feel like you are getting closer to being done
  • Instead of counting by ones, count by twos or threes – This may help you feel like you are taking bigger chunks out of the reps
  • Try counting in a different language (one that you know…obviously)  – This could help you switch your focus off of the discomfort or pain

These strategies are simple, yet can make a huge difference in your performance. If you get yourself into a negative place during a WOD, try changing the way you count and see if it helps.”
